Are Gamma Ray Burst Driven by Gravitational Waves ?

چکیده
We investigate the non-linear interaction of a strong Gravitational Wave with the plasma during the collapse of a massive magnetized star to form a black hole, or during the merging of neutron star binaries (central engine). We found that under certain conditions this coupling may result in an efficient energy space diffusion of particles. We suggest that the atmosphere created around the central engine is filled with 3-D magnetic neutral sheets (magnetic nulls). We demonstrate that the passage of strong pulses of Gravitational Waves through the magnetic neutral sheets accelerates electrons to very high energies. We conclude that in several astrophysical events, gravitational pulses may accelerate the tail of the ambient plasma to very high energies and become the driver for many types of astrophysical bursts.

Swift Pointing and Gravitational-Wave Bursts from Gamma-Ray Burst Events
The currently accepted model for gamma-ray burst phenomena involves the violent formation of a rapidly rotating solar-mass black hole. Gravitational waves should be associated with the black-hole formation, and their detection would permit this model to be tested. Even upper limits on the gravitational-wave strength associated with gammaray bursts could constrain the gamma-ray burst model. This...

The currently accepted model for gamma-ray burst phenomena involves the violent formation of a rapidly rotating solar mass black hole. متن کاملThe Possible Indications of Low-Frequency Gravitational Waves Associated with a Gamma-Ray Burst GRB 051103 in LIGO pre-S5 Data
The noise sources of gravitational wave detectors for ground-based laser interferometers by example of LIGO were analyzed. As shown the low-frequency gravitational waves (GW) cause to changes in the detectors’ dynamic properties, which manifested as the Q-factor’s changes of lowfrequency seismic component in a detectors’ integral noise that leads to the possibility of indirect GW’s observation ...
متن کاملPolarized Gravitational Waves from Gamma-Ray Bursts
Significant gravitational wave emission is expected from gamma-ray bursts arising from compact stellar mergers, and possibly also from bursts associated with fast-rotating massive stellar core collapses. These models have in common a high angular rotation rate, and observations provide evidence for jet collimation of the photon emission, with properties depending on the polar angle. Here we con...
متن کاملMonopole gravitational waves from relativistic fireballs driving gamma-ray bursts
Einstein’s General Relativity predicts that pressure, in general stresses, play a similar role to energy density, ǫ = ρc (with ρ being corresponding mass density), in generating gravity. The source of gravitational field, the active gravitational mass density, sometimes referred to as Whittaker’s mass density, is ρgrav = ρ + 3p/c , where p is pressure in the case of an ideal fluid. Whittaker’s ...
متن کاملSearching for gravitational waves with LIGO
The Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO) detectors have reached their design sensitivity, and searches for gravitational waves are ongoing. We highlight current attempts to detect various classes of signals. These include unmodelled sub-second bursts of gravitational radiation, such as from core-collapse supernovae and gamma-ray burst engines. Gravitational waves from isol...
